Developed by ICAR–Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Arka Aruna is a cross between Banganapalli and Alphonso. It is known for its relatively dwarf growth habit, regular bearing and large mangoes with attractive skin colour and a red blush.

The fruits have pale-yellow, fibreless pulp and are reported to be free from spongy tissue. The variety is suitable for home gardens and high-density planting, making it a useful option for gardeners looking for a named mango variety.

Plant the mango tree in a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil. Water regularly while the plant establishes and provide appropriate nutrition as it grows. A grafted plant may bear earlier than a seed-grown mango tree, but the actual time depends on plant age, graft quality, climate and care.
