Yellow Mangosteen is commonly used as a name for more than one fruit species. In India, it often refers to Garcinia xanthochymus, also known as Mysore Gamboge, Egg Tree or Sour Mangosteen.

This evergreen tree produces yellow fruits when ripe. The fruit pulp is acidic and may be used in traditional food preparations, including jams and as a souring ingredient. It is different from the familiar purple mangosteen, Garcinia mangostana.
